Let The Good Times Roll…

Yesterday I went to the lovely lush shop in Bristol in search for a facial cleanser. After looking around a few of their products and talking to a nice lady who called me and my friend ‘lushies’, I went to look at the cleansers and instantly fell in love with the smell of ‘let the good times roll’.  It smells like buttery sweet caramel popcorn. I loved it so much I went and bought it, hoping it would do my skin some good!  This is one of the cleansers which has a consistency of play dough but it is more crumblier. So, you have to add water to it to form a paste before you put it on your face. I’ve only used it twice and already I love it! It makes your skin feel so clean and healthy and best of all really soft! It doesn’t have any preservatives or harsh chemicals and is made from fresh ingredients like:

Polenta

Packed with vitamins and minerals, polenta is simply cooked cornmeal after the oil has been squeezed out of the kernels. It is packed with great amounts of vitamins and minerals which help to make your skin healthy.

Maize Flour

An ingredient which is made from corn that gently exfoliates your skin and helps to clean off any dirt.

Smell: 9/10

Effect on skin: 9/10

Value for money: 9/10

( 1-10 appualing, 11-15 bad, 16-20 ok, 21-25 good, 26-30 great, 31-35 amazing, 36-40 outstanding )

Lush Valentine’s Day Products 2014

In this post, I will be telling you all about this years lush products. Don’t forget to leave a like and comment if you enjoyed!

Valentine's Day

This years Valentine’s products look fab! They are all very different from last years products and I am very exited to try some of these products out!

Lush Valentine’s Bath  Products

Love Locket

A delightful looking bath bomb, inspired by a love locket! It has ingredients like Neroli oil and Jasmine absolute, which I’m guessing with give the bath bomb a very floral smell. Judging by customer views, however, (and the fact it has vanilla in it) it probably has a very sweet vanillary smell. This one is priced at £6.95 or $10.95

In the bath it has alot of soap, confeti hearts in it and, judging by the picture, it creates a very deep pink colour in the bath.

The Love Locket was inspired by the kind of heart-shaped locket you wear as a necklace, perhaps with a secret photograph of a loved one inside. In the same way, you have to unlock (crack open) this Love Locket bath bomb to reveal the secrets hidden within…

Soap

Neon Love Soap

This product is said to have a very tropical, fruity smell to it, so I cannot wait to try this one out! It also looks so pretty with all the heart shapes in! This one is priced at £4.25 (100g) or $6.95 (3.5 oz) I am so exited to try this one!

This is a unique soap with an uplifting, fruity fragrance. Bergamot and rosewood work together to create a rich scent, whilst fresh figs, passion fruit juice and soya yoghurt nourish and soften the skin.

Lush Valentine’s Massage Bars

Close To You

This massage bar is inspired by (yay) the JAMMY DODGER! Legend. It has Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute in it which is made from vanilla pods. This massage bar has the same smell as the creamy candy bubble bar! I am so exited to try this one. This is priced at £5.50 or $7.95

This smooshable massage bar is beautifully fragranced with Fair Trade vanilla absolute. Inspired by the humble Jammie Dodger biscuit – as you peek through the heart shaped hole on top of bar you can see into the sumptuous white fondant centre.

Tender is the Night

Not only did this massage bar appear last year, not only is it appearing this year, but it will now be joining the lush all-year range! This bar has a new look this year. It also has a really floral smell. It is priced at £6.50 or $11.95

Probably our most romantic product ever…with exquisite floral essential oils and a beautiful floral fragrance to leave your skin smelling absolutely divine. Re-launching for Valentine’s Day, this product will be staying on permanently.

Other Lush Valentine’s Products

Prince Charming

Now this shower gel look really good! Smelling of marshmallow and pomegranate, it sounds so good, I wish it would become an all-year-round product, like it’s raining men! It contains actual pomegranate juice, which sounds delicious! It is priced at £4.65 (100g) or $9.95 (fl.oz).

Lip care

The Kiss- lip gloss

Another product coming back for another year, this gloss is packed with soft butters like the moisturising Shea butter. I didn’t like the look of this last year, but this year I can’t wait to try it! I always stay away from lip gloss because it is so sticky and drying. However, according to customer reviews, this is not the case with lush’s lip gloss. It is priced at £5.75 or $9.25

I hope you enjoyed this post! I spent allot of time getting all this information, prices, links and pictures so I would really appreciate it if you left a like or even a comment. If you are new to the blog, why not subscribe!? And one last thing, I will not be moving this blog to another account.

Lush Christmas Product: Shoot for the stars

A Lush Christmas product which Smells AMAZING! Please don’t forget to leave a like and comment if you enjoyed.

Shoot for the stars has the best smell ever! Just one sniff, and you can smell rich golden honey and warm toffee. Amazing! The bomb itself is blue, pink and has yellow shooting stars all around it. It looks so pretty and is the size of a normal bath bomb like Twilight or Dragons egg.

Shooting stars: effect in Bath

In the bath, it takes way too long to fizz. By the time you get out of the bath, the bomb is still dissolving. Therefore, it’s really annoying to watch. However, it does make your water a really pretty, deep violet. And there is allot of pinks and yellows swirled within the top of the bath. And of course, it has glitter in.

In this picture I found, it’s hard to see the colour of the water, but you can see the colours coming out of the bomb itself.

This picture shows the colour and the glitter in the water better.

One of the main ingredients is, Bergamot Oil. It is a oil extacted from the peel of its fruit. The fruit itself, looks like a small orange but has a yellow tone to it.

The bergamot fruit

It has a light, fruity and floral smell, which makes it very relaxing and uplifting. It is said that it can take the negative thoughts from your mind and help to maintain mental clarity. The oil is also used in: Happy Hippy shower gel, Miranda soap, The Comforter, and allot more products!

Overall, I think this bath bomb is great however, it takes way too long to fizz.

Smell: 10/10

Effect in bath: 4/10- it took way too long to fizz and had too much glitter

Value for money: 6/10

appearance: 8/10

Overall: 28/40

overall 30/40 ( 1-10 appualing, 11-15 bad, 16-20 ok, 21-25 good, 26-30 great, 31-35 amazing, 36-40 outstanding )

A bubble bar on my wishlist: Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds

My mum is a massive fan of this bubble bar, which is the same size as the comforter, and the other day, I could smell it really strongly after my mum had a bath. It had such a relaxing but fresh smell to it, which is really hard to describe.

One of the ingredients is Patchouli Oil, which is extracted from the dried grass of the Pogostemon cablin plant.  Shown below…….

Patchouli is a really bushy plant, which is part of the mint family so this means the bubble bar has a minty smell to it. It mainly grows in Asia but also grows in Indonesia, China and the Philippines. Patchouli is used in perfumes mainly today, for its great smell, but it is also used in allot of lush products because of it’s relaxant properties. Patchouli oil is also used in the ‘Karma’ range from Lush.

Another oil used is, Cinnamon Leaf Oil. It is extracted from trees, mainly in Indonesia, that can grow up to 45 feet tall. However, the oil is located towards the bottom of the plant, rather than the top. The trees have little green leaves, white flowers and purple berries.

The oil, as probably guessed, has a rich spicy smell which makes it popular in allot of lush products like New shampoo bar , Wiccy Magic Muscles and Volcano foot mask.

According to the website, it turns your water sky blue and the patches of bubbles will be like the clouds.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I can’t wait to buy this one!

Golden wonder explosion!

For Christmas, my friend gave me a Golden wonder bath bomb, which is part of the lush Christmas range! I used it the other day and the bath looked like something from space!

IMG_20131231_105528

The bath bomb itself looks really pretty and its covered in glorious gold glitter which makes your skin sparkle and shine, after coming out the bath. The shape of the bath bomb is so unique; its in the shape of a present. This really follows the Christmas theme. Inside, its full of blue and other colourful ball shapes to make the bath water a really pretty turquoise blue.

It also has cute, gold, soap stars and popping candy so it really seemed like a big space explosion!

golden wonder 3

It had a refreshing citrus smell, which was really strong when you put the bomb into the water. However, I don’t think its really a good smell for this bomb- I think it would have been better with a honey smell because of the golden

Twilight bath bomb review

Officially THE best bath bomb ever! Although expensive, this bath bomb smells delicious! A sweet, lavender sent makes this bath bomb good enough to eat. In the water it looks so mysterious with a bright pink foam, followed by a blue centre. This bath bomb is like a dream! Also, there is glitter inside and the water turns a deep, midnight purple.

smell: 9/10 –> its not the best smell ever but so relaxing and sweet smelling

effect in bath: 10/10–> the colours are so pretty and the glitter just adds that extra sparkle

appearance: 8/10–> a lovely colour but apart from the moons and stars, this is just an average bath bomb from the outside

value for money: 8/10—> a great value at £3.20 but as this is a bit expensive and its a one time only I give it an 8

overall 35/40 ( 1-10 appualing, 11-15 bad, 16-20 ok, 21-25 good, 26-30 great, 31-35 amazing, 36-40 outstanding )

Easter review- the carrot

No lush don’t sell real carrots but they do sell the carrot! This is a reusable bubble bar which I think works great! It smells like blackcurrant and tropical with a slight hint of soap (just a tiny bit though). With just a few swishes and a hold under the tap this thing makes loads of bubbles and turns the water a beautiful orange. This works great with the Easter egg hunt soap.

You are able to get 8-10 uses out of this and still get loads of bubbles! It prices at £4.95 or $7.95.

smell: 7/10

effect on bath: 10/10

qappearence:9/10

value for money: 8/10

overall: 34/40

Lush Haul :D

I got to go to lush yesterday for my b-day. I visited the 100th store! This is what I got…

Dragons egg bath ballistic

This bath ballistic is amazing. It smells lemony and tropical and looks like a daragons egg with all the colours in it. I have already used this so a review will be coming soon 😉

£3.20 (UK) $6.25 (USA)

does any one else think that this reminds you of creme eggs?

The carrot- reusable bubble bar

It litreally looks like a carrot, but smells like blackcurants but citrusy and lemony at the same time! I have never tried a reusable bubble bar before but they always have them for their limeted edition range.

£4.95 (UK) $7.95 (USA)

Shine so bright- hair balm for split ends

Part of their new hair care range; rub on to split ends.

£4.50 (UK) $9.95 (USA)

The Godmother Soap

I bought this soap because of its amazing smell! It smells of sweets, vanilla and a hint of fruityness. It shares the scent with snow fairy and the candy fluff egg.

£2.95- 100g (UK) $6.40- 3.5oz (USA)

Whipstick lip balm

I have been wanting to try one of lushes lip balms or scrubs for a while now and after trying them, tasting and smelling them all (yes they put flavouring in them) this one really did float my boat! It smells of terrys chocolate orange (yum) and tastes sweet and sugary (yum)!

£5.50 (UK) $7.25 (USA)

That was all I got from lush! Have a great Easter…
